The anticorrosion treatment for the TOTAL refinery is finished
DEPISA has finished this job in the Tarragona workshop. More than 1.200 tons of pipes and supports for the Antwerp (Belgium) TOTAL refinery have been treated. They have been designed and built by Técnicas Reunidas, engineering experts since 1960.
A high qualified production team has been required for this project. Thanks to great coordination, they have been able to fulfil the highest quality and security requirements set for this project.
The treatment performed in the Depisa Tarragona workshop has required an effective scheduling of both space and logistics, because it was a multilayer system. In this kind of system, repaint and curing times of the applied paint have to be carefully thought.

DEPISA has provided the technical, material and human resources, being all of them lead by the figure of a Project Manager trained in house with the internal training plan that DEPISA is promoting lately.
The more than 4.900 m2 are mainly prebuilt pipe. It was necessary to allocate more than 3.000 m2 in the Tarragona workshop to receive, prepare surfaces, paint and store the product until its delivery.
For this project, more than 8.500 paint liters have been used. The traceability of the products has been maintained from the beginning to the end of the process.
All the quality tests performed, along with the corresponding reports, have been done by our FROSIO inspector assigned to this project.

The refinery in Antwerp is the biggest petrochemical TOTAL complex in Europe. It produces a huge variety of petroleum products, like diesel, petrol, ethylene, propylene, etc.
