DEPISA offers technical training on passive protection at TECNICAS REUNIDAS

DEPISA, leader in anti-corrosion treatments, is also an expert certified applicator of various passive protection systems. That is why, a few weeks ago, he gave a technical training session on this subject at the offices of TÉCNICAS REUNIDAS in Madrid. It was attended by about thirty employees of the company, dedicated to the engineering, design and construction of all kinds of industrial facilities for a wide spectrum of customers from all over the world.

In the session, by J. Moran, J. Santana and M.A. Monroy, addressed issues such as the advantages and disadvantages of passive protection, its singularities versus active, flame retardant, intumescent or sublimating materials, mass, fire regulations, etc.

The training day at TÉCNICAS REUNIDAS is part of DEPISA’s collaboration program with its clients on training topics and the organization of technical conferences.

Technology against fire

Passive fire protection is based on building elements which by their physical conditions isolate the structure of a building from the effects of a fire over a certain period of time. They delay the action of the fire, allow the evacuation of the occupants of the facility and gain time for the arrival of firefighters and the tasks of extinction.
The building elements or coatings which act as passive protection agents are, for example, fibro-silicate panels (insulation); Mortars (non-combustible); Intumescent coatings (they react in the face of fire by increasing their volume and forming a foamy insulating agent) or sublimating coatings (they act by passing from their solid state to gas and causing an oxygen choke and a countercurrent flow outwards).

DEPISA is expert in the application of passive protection solutions highly specialized and with the maximum guarantees of quality and effectiveness as Chartek International; Thermo-Lag 3000 SP Carboline; Hempacor; Jotachar; Pitt-Char XP, etc.
