Depisa celebrates its 50th anniversary
The specialist protective coatings company is organising several events at the offices in Barcelona, Tarragona, A Coruña and Castellón
Depisa, a company specialist in the application of protective coatings, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Founded in Madrid in 1969, the firm now operates in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, generation and distribution of energy and general industry sectors, and has over 400 people.
To kick start the anniversary events, last 16 May Depisa organised an event at the World Trade Centre in Barcelona, attended by around 100 employees and customers. The act, which saw several awards being dished out to workers, included the presence of Victor Küppers, lecturer and instructor, who spoke about “Managing enthusiasm.”
During the event, Javier Ferreon, group chairman, recalled the company’s beginnings and highlighted the small number of companies that last for 50 years. “We are really proud to celebrate our continued existence in an increasingly competitive sector, with the presence of multinationals” It should be noted that according to data from the Spanish National Statistics Institute, only 16.3% of companies last for over 20 years.
In turn, Oscar Ferreon, Depisa CEO and second generation, explained that “since its foundation, the company has stood out by using the most innovative techniques and having the best team of specialists in applying corrosion protection coating.” This anniversary is a unique opportunity to “value all the human resources that have formed and are part of the company,” Ferreon added. Jonathan Santana, Depisa representative in the Barcelona area, was in charge of hosting the event.
As part of the 50th anniversary activities, Depisa will also hold events in other regions in Spain where it has offices: Tarragona (13 June), A Coruña (20 June) and Castellón (3 October). In A Coruña, the event will feature Pedro Aguado, the former Spanish water polo player and gold medal winner in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, and TV presenter.
